RE: English chatting room
I have never tried french cuisine, but i heard from many people they are the best.
About Vietnames food,i think they are pretty good, very "pure",not like others. For example,Chinese cuisine is too fat and the chefs put in too much season spices,Thai cuisine is too much spicy,... In god we trust |

RE: English chatting room
hey guys (lol), why do you think in such a way of unilateralism? Deliciousness or tastiness are just something whose definitions are all abstract. Your comments on this subject seem to be dictated by feelings. I've tasted nearly all word's cuisine from Mexican, French, Chinese, Indian, Thai, Italian, Viet Nam (of course) to England, Japan, German, American, Brazilian, Russian, Latvian, etc. And I came to the conclusion that every food has its all special and unique. Each cuisine reflects a culture. The only way for you to find favour in a cuisine (whatever it is) is that you have to joy in the way the local people join, which means understand it's role or meaning in culture. If you can do that, subsequently all the foods will turn to be amazingly delicious.

Haha , we are not anthropology scientists or archaeologists who would come to discover truths or research on different cultures or whatsoever... We just come to eat , and simply to enjoy the food . That's what most ppl r thinkin' about when they hang out for meal :-j . about the history of the cuisine or what native ppl had done :-j who cares :-j

It doesn't mean that we try to be scientists but to taste the dishes with possitive attitude. I had a chance to have some Thai food last summer and found that the dishes weren't as spicy as stereotype, especially one dish which was a mixture of rice and coconut and banana.

RE: English chatting room
@fiona_rabbit:If you want to evaluate sth,in this case is food, you have to have a neutral attitude, don't judge sth in general when you r "in the mood",too happy or too depressed,....May be when you tasted the food in Thailand, you was too happy or had positive feeling. In a word,I said French cuisine was the best becoz most people like it,the majority. Each of us has different taste, different perspective about food. But i m talking about the majority.
@daredevil:Hey,i'm talking about my opinion about food.Everyone has their own opinion, you have your own,and I have my own. When you talk about a matter, you must look at it in every angle(or as many as possible)..I do agree with you that every food has their own specials and unique, but may be those specials may be not suitable for s.o,may be they dont think those specials are special. For example, about "phở",which is our traditional food, some says they like it(like its soup, like the spicies)but some doesn't.They think "phở" is just a normal, very normal dish. You said that if we can understand the meaning, the role of a dish in its own country, the food we taste "will turn to be amazingly delicious",but actually,it is not always true. For instance, when we go to a restaurant, for example a French one,do we have to find out the French cuisine meaning or role in France in order to have a good meal. No,we dont. You can try,if a dish is naturally delicious,we can "feel" it withuot doing anthing else,in this case is French food. Another thing is that you said you had tasted cuisine of many countries, and i think that is not exactly possible.May be you have gone to other countries's restaurants, but may be the chefs are not the people from those countries.May be they are just local chefs and just follow the recipe to cook, and it means that you haven't really tasted those countries cuisine. RE: English chatting room
Food is not boring.Do you know what people think about food? They consider food,or cooking in general, an art.May be you can write down your feeling after tasting some cuisine that you think is delicious.

RE: English chatting room
I'm not very interested in food and/or cooking teheh... since this topic is not very welcomed, may have i changed it into a different one?
First, what do you think about education in Vietnam nowadays? If you were the President, or, the Minister of Education, what would you do to improve the quality of learning and training in Vietnam? Second, should English be our second language? Why/why not. And last but not least, what do you think about OUR SCHOOL those days? Look at 2 graphs below and please feel free to tell me which one you think would better suit our school present condition: [images temporarily shut down. re-upload at another time] Are WE a sinusoidal or a quadratic function? And where are we at at the moment? *** I'm not graphing them properly. So please omit any mathematical or graphing mistakes. Thanks in advance*** Shall I make this a new separate thread?
