About having sex before marriage,i think we shuold do that.Because i think that sex is one of the basic things in marriage, and if a couple doesnt have comfort in sex,may be divorce is inevitable.

@ thi si tho: exactly my point!
@ emyeugdcd: u did so right, nothing is better than a hug u gave to her. @ deco: your topic is so interesting. I also agree with this, having sex before marriage, it's really ok! I support the idea that some couples move to live together like husband and wife before making any commitment as well. The front can be a liar but the back always tells truth |

RE: English chatting room
Actually, having sex be4 marriage is a normal thing in Western countries. It's a part of a relationship. Yet ya guys need to think about how our society looks 'bout it. Vietnamese men usually (I don't say all of them) like to marry a virgin although they could have sex with their gfs. It's nonsense yet it's true. Just face it. I don't mean to attack anyone, just my own idea. Thus it's better not having sex be4 marriage to keep you GIRLS from any trouble later.
Well, it seems like I'm an old-fashioned girl who objects such a progressive outlook like that. ---Getting old is inevitable yet growing up is optional ^^!--- |

I think our conception is chaging and have to change.Because you know the world is flat.Things that are old and so "ancient" will have to disappeare and will be replaced with newer and moderner and more popular things.Having sex b4 marriage is so normal not only in western countries but also in countries in Asia(for example:Japan,Korea....)And t it is getting popular all around the world. So you know what? Our conception may have to change to.

Somehow it makes me remember some citation from an article I have read long long ago: "The Western is exporting tomorrow while importing yesterday." RE: English chatting room
For men it can be a normal thing, because no one ever knows about that unless you tell them. (You're not that stupid) Nevertheless, if a woman is kicked metaphorically after having sex with a man, it'll be hard for her to start a new relationship. Therefore, girls seem not to have supportive ideas about it. In my opinion, it's okay if you do that after a LONG time of getting to know about each other.

Anyway,Sex is a basic thing,a part of love. When 2 people love each other so much, sex is the way to "communicate".It has higher "level" than just gossiping or giving gifts to each other.Naturally,Having sex is a really normal action of human. The problem is just the way "we" think about that.

RE: English chatting room
Hi. My name is Jonathan. I am from England. Currently I am an undergraduate in Mansfield College, Oxford University. I was introduced to this forum by one of my Vietnamese friends. He is now a columni of your school.
I am doing languages and societies for my baccalaureate. I need to find out what people from Asia think about English as a common language in the world. What picture do you have in mind when someone mentions English as a language to you? I tried to ask my friend this, but he is just too 'westernised' for any credible information to be gathered. But it was his idea that I should be here. I hope you don't mind my intrusion. I've been reading some of your posted messages (I am sorry for being so nosy). It seems to me that you think English is a more "open" language because I see many of you mention premarital sex, which is still a taboo in most Asian countries or so I read. But I admit this is only a preliminary thought. I expect to get a more accurate account from you. Looking forwards to your answers. Regards, John P.S don't mind my particulars. my friend filled in the form for me.

(I can't prove my statement, can I? So please bear with me.) But yes I agree with you English is a global language and a lot of people use it as a mode of communication. However, what I am most interested in is why you consider English not a "beautiful" language. Is it because it is a foreign language to you? Or is it because it just doesn't feel the same when you have to use English to express you emotions, feelings, ideas, etc you name it? Please don't take it that I am trying to defend the language of my people. On the very contrary, I have to thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. You have given me so many new ideas. RE: English chatting room
@ john: welcome to this forum, such a big surprise to have you here discuss this stuff with us.
Actually, I think that we just chagned the subject right? So I will talk about English. English has gone all the way from lingua franca to global languague. One says "English ìniltrated the world, many of the world's languagues ìniltrated English", I think it's a very good point. The reason why I studied English a lot is that I wanna join Survivor and TARA , j/k we've all studied English in order to get what we want, right?@ deco: sex is like indispensible, some have just for physical satisfaction I think, no love needed. I wanna mention the rhyme.Have you ever heard French or Japanese? They are,uhm..how can i describe it.Just like when you are listening to a person speaking Fench or Japanese,it seems like you are listening to a "song".English is so harsh, not musical.

RE: English chatting room
ahh, this is what you meant by "not beautiful"! Not totally agree, I think that English spoken by Englishmen sounds really good. Agree with you that French and Japanese sound like a song! What do you think about Vietnamese? My Singaporean friend said that Vietnamese is nasal ?!

RE: English chatting room
I've read some articles from some US newspapers about English. Many people admit that speaking English is not easy, especially when you have to "learn by heart" how to speak a word. Most of the words don't follow a particular rule, so it's hard for you to pronounce them if you just look at their apperances. "Bury" and "curry", for example.
