ok dear, i have to tell ya 1 thing, don't do anything freely before you know what is going on ==" you didn't read the date on the posts. Correcting too old posts may not be concerned by everyone ya know... Anyway, if you like you can keep on the good work and correct the recent posts =="

And btw, if you want to know, I'm a freshman here, too. Just like imma_slut. Speaking about imma_slut, we (imma_jerk & imma_slut) now go to the same school: Nguyen Thuong Hien so if you feel comfortable for other schools being in your school's forum, we're sorry about that. Ok then, I think we will have another topic in this thread is introducing ourselves, okay.

First, about me & imma_slut

However, would be great if you can fix recently posts, not those posted more than a year ago

Quote:if you find them sucks, just ignore :-j 'cause i've heard that in PTNK, you don't put stress on grammar and writing skill

And I don't really know where did you heard about this, but it's wrong. I assume that you already read the whole topic, did you see those lines ?

Quote:**My english is bad, so I really want you to check and comment me Big Grin... thanks Big Grin**

Quote:If you see expression, or wrong phrase structure grammar, emendation give service to me Dhh Dhh
Quote:So please help me fix error. I do not know where to edit that error again.Looks like you learn good English too!!! Dribble

Quote:**Again, I want to talk that:"My english is bad, so I really want you to check, edit and comment me Big Grin... thank you Big Grin**

well...firstly...thanks ^^
secondly, i think i have made myself a bit unclear Big Grin
what i heard about PTNK is that you guys put stress on all the 4 skills equally Smile so you don't place as much stress on writing as we do in our school ^^
speaking of my school, there's an English Corner on my school's forum pretty similar to this chatroom ^^
i'm one of the two editors there *Big Grin*, correcting people's mistakes and taking part in activities as well
that's why i'm used to the job so much
but it is "dying"...being forgotten Frown
you have no idea how glad i was to see your reply, don't you? Laughing
'cause i saw the last reply before mine was posted a while ago
and i was afraid this page had been forgotten just the same way as ours Frown
i think you should like to check it out Smile
http://forum.nthsite.com/f150/english-corner-t8056.html
i'd like you to join with us sometimes ^^
i'll tell them about this page too
i think that new members may bring about changes to both sides Big Grin

now...to the correcting part Big Grin
i wonder why in the very first sentence, you used "correct mistake" and it was right. why those after that you used "fix error"? Straight face
"fix" is used more...er..."physically" *Embarrassment*
you fix or repair a specific thing that can be touched and felt
and...nah..."error" is fine :-j ^^
"I don't really know where did you heard about this" => you should have said "did you hear" or "have you heard" but they're both wrong this case ^^
because...it is reported speech "i don't really know..."
so the last answer is "...where you heard" or "...where you have heard" Big Grin
and we don't say "i want to talk that" but "i want to say that" ^^
i dont' know how to tell you the difference but that got me come up with this...er...kinda...a game ^^"
i hope you guys will join with me
we will list out all the words describing all the actions of the mouth that make sounds and try to tell the differences between them Big Grin
i'll give you some words for example..."say, talk, speak, tell, yell, shout,..." Big Grin
can you help me tell the difference? Dhh
that may help our "mr.bean", huh? Wink)

p.s: i am not that good at English :-j
if i were, i would have been a member of your school already Laughing

RE: English chatting room
well, after your 1st post in this topic, I just want to make things clear, that u guys or anyone else are welcomed here, in this 4rum, not only PTNKers.

But, I'm not interested in English. Although I have to use it everyday, having a perfect English skill is not my goal.

RE: English chatting room
Finally, Ms. Class President aka Glowing Underpants has arrived rolling on the floor Nice to meet you again girl, how are ya doing over there? Maybe we're on the same "hate studying english like hell" boat now huh rolling on the floor somehow i'm getting tired of studying english now, because in the so-called English-Gifted Class (lớp chuyên anh - tạm dịch) we're just learning the things that we would RARELY use in the future, maybe only in really important science essays i guess. Like inversions, when do we use that O_O I can't figure out the whole reason why we should learn it, so now i'm wondering the choice that i took to compete in that heck of a difficult test to be in an english-gifted class is right or wrong =="

I have a question: Can you advice me? Is it true, or you should use Can you give me an advice.

well the first sentence is good enough Smile
but to make it sound clearer and more fluent
you can say "can you advice me what to do?"
the second one is good too Big Grin
but "advice" is an uncountable noun so you can't say "an advice" but "a piece/ a bit/ a few words/ a word of advice" ^^
@winbie: then can you tell me why you are a "10 English-er" batting eyelashes
but anyway, i think i know your feelings :-j
what i like about English is for things like...this Big_smile
just informal English used in everyday life ^^
but i won't regret my choice Laughing
and i bet you won't either batting eyelashes
'cause your class seems so fun Dhh
who would want to be out of such a class? Laughing
i would love to be in your class too if i were as good as you guys and if i hadn't had another goal to reach Smile

RE: English chatting room
I think advice is a noun, the verb should be advise, so the first question should be "Can you advise me?" and BTW, Winbie had an embarrassing nickname last year but i don't know if this year she's going to be called that way again rolling on the floor (glowing underpants LOL rolling on the floor) and btw, slut dear (this sounds so awkward rolling on the floor) i'm with you all the way

RE: English chatting room
YUP, I REALLY REALLY REALLY LOVE 10 ENGLISH 09-12!!!!!!!!!!! HUGE, GIANT LOVE FOR YA ALL! love struck MUAHH.... Kiss XOXOXOXOXOXOXO MUAHHHHHHHHHHHHH.............. Embarrassment

imma_slut ?_? imma_jerk ?_? AUTISM!!! rolling on the floor Who the heck are you guyz anw?

Btw, it's so not GLOWING UNDERPANTS. It's THE-MOST-SPARKLING-PANTIES-EVER, lmfao. rolling on the floor My honor. Beauty

FYI, one day, I explained to some of my oh-so-crazy friends about my beautiful name: HAQ, which means a SPECIAL day-blooming phyllocactus (wonder if I'm spelling right >"<) or a SPECIAL day-blooming cereus ("a night queen of flower kingdom" which is strong enough to bloom in the morning @_@ - and some kinda things, remember I was a dreaming girl at that time and I didn't even know what I was talkin' about... rolling on the floor). And of course, they laughed and started to ~"decode"~ my name in a different way...

Quỳnh ~~~~> sounds like Quần =''=
Ánh ~~~~> refers to Dạ Quang
Hoàng ~~~~> always makes them think 'bout yellow stuff ~> at last, Dạ Quang is the best word, they always think so. rolling on the floor

And I have no idea why it has to be PANTIES or UNDERPANTS. Embarrassment... At first, it was very embarrassing and ridiculous. I used to hate that "aka" a lot... extremely hate. (OBJECTION rolling on the floor) >"< But anw, in the end, I found it kute and adorable. ^^* And f***ing friendly! [Plus, this oh-so-weird nickname also reminds me of such an awkward memory with 2 guyz at TDN high school. Embarrassment TOP SECRET! rolling on the floor]

Haven't mention this childlike memory since like forever. love struck Gosh! I miss my secondary school way too much! And I also love my new school [PTNK] way too much. And we have like... 17 days left. Frown

I guess, this place is the last school in VN I've ever been to. Sure I'll miss u guyz a lot.

WTF is happening to me today? rolling on the floor Too much talking and talking and reminiscing... and I cannot stop. [It seems like I've just walked out of a love novel by Marc Levy or a bunch of Hallmark cards rolling on the floor]

RE: English chatting room
I don't understand what are you guys doing here, in this topic? It's a chatting room or an academic learning topic for correcting mistakes?
I think that if you want to correct others' sentences, you should not only rewrite and point out the mistakes but also give references (which sources do you refer to? How do you know that the sentences are wrong? What if your new sentences are not correct...)
If other people rely on this topic to improve their english, you should be careful with your writing and expression.
@MrBean: Where are you now? UK? what is PR? Why do you still feel worried about your english after 2 years studying abroad? You must improve your english a lot during that time. I'm younger than you and, by the way, nice to know you.

In Adelaide, South Australia ... Never said that I worried about my English, at least I'm good enough to study Uni. What i meant is don't worry to much about having a perfect English, try to understand what people say and let everybody understand what you say is good enough, the rest can be improved by daily practice.
